Kristin Hope Houdyshell

Research Assistants

Kristin is a Research Staff Assistant in the Commane Atmospheric Composition Group at Columbia. Originally from Florida, Kristin received their B.S. from the University of South Florida, Tampa, and the Judy Genshaft Honors College in 2020. There, they studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in the Interdisciplinary Natural Sciences major program. Kristin’s Honors Thesis was on developing a field-course aimed at understanding the interactions between human and environmental health amidst climate change. Kristin’s interests include understanding various anthropogenic drivers of climate change at the atmospheric and terrestrial level on both urban and rural ecosystems. Kristin joined the Commane lab in Fall of 2021, and is working on maintaining an established greenhouse gas network in NYC. Kristin enjoys hiking, reading, baking, learning about mycology, and participating in local climate activism across the city.
