We have all made it through another pandemic spring and surprisingly it looks like all our fieldwork will be going ahead in summer 2021 (with COVID adaptations of course)!

We were finally able to open a search for a new Postdoc to join the group! Link HERE

Fieldwork

Each of our field projects is beginning to ramp up!

OCS in Maine: Jamie is working with Mary Whelan's group at Rutgers to measure OCS at Howland Forest in Maine. This will be a nice contrast to the OCS measurements at Harvard Forest for 2019. She is running an Aerodyne QCLS spectrometer belonging to Mary. More updates on that project to follow (including updates from Jamie).

Urban biogenic carbon: Roisin, Luke, Andy Reinmann (CUNY), John Mak (Stony Brook) will be working together at Black Rock Forest this summer to measure fluxes of biogenic carbon and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) across an urban to rural gradient around the New York metro area. We are also looking for a postdoc to join us on that project.

Methane around NY: Roisin and Luke will be joining a team funded by NYSERDA to measure methane from various sources around New York State. Jim Schwab from SUNY Albany is PI of the mobile van, Lee Murray (Rochester) is leading the modeling and Eric Liebensperger (Ithaca College) the on the ground deployments upstate. If you know of any CH4 sources around the state that we might have missed, let us know!

AQ at The Met Museum: Roisin and Charlotte are a little excited to be snooping around the Met this summer to help measure atmospheric composition around the artwork. More details to follow.
